By now you may wonder about my design. It is a bit unusual. I started with a foundation and stud walls. But instead of sheathing I'm attaching 2x4 girts (no, not girdles silly) every other foot. Eventually they will be for attaching vertical steel siding like a post frame building. For now they are really convenient for scaffolding. With a 20' ladder across jacks plus some planks I can work on a good size section at a time. This helps safely and easily work at heights.
Here's a closer view of ladder jack scaffolding. The top of each bracket just drops onto a board like a ladder rung. The lower board just lays in there for support. Fast and easy yet strong and stable.
Today I girted the other sides. (Is that as fun to read as it was to write?) The bottom course was left for later. Being open is easier to duck under.
Girts also minimize the need for ladders to work just about anywhere on the building. The whole framed structure basically is a ladder.
