More rain today. At least I started building forms for the footings.
The footings were challenging. Rain didn't help. The amount of wood was small, plus some stakes to hold them in place. The tricky part was making sure they were all in the right place. It's also a 3D problem. Foundation walls need the footings to be level. Because I chose to stockpile dirt in the middle, I couldn't string level diagonal lines to make sure the forms were racked square. When we poured the redi-mix concrete that was a lot more work than expected. That was the longest, hardest day of the project by far. But alas, we now have footings. Yeah!
Almost forgot. Neighborhood cats moonlight as building inspectors. Since they signed off on the job, I guess it met their approval.
