The Honda EU3000i is a really nice generator.
My solution was to fabricate a carrier for a standard 2" receiver hitch.
The base is welded steel. It attaches to the bottom of the generator using eight 8-mm bolts. These bolt holes were originally for support channels and rubber feet. The rubber feet (3 of 4 so far) we reattached to the bottom of the new frame. The opposite end from the receiver features two 4" rollers for support and easier mobility. To obtain the rollers I chopped an 8" mower deck roller in half. The rollers are supported by brackets attached to the frame using two of the 8-mm bolts on each side. The shaft for the roller is a 5/8" galvanized bolt.
The hitch mount provides some flexibility. I have 2" receivers on the front
and rear of both my truck and fifth wheel camper. I prefer the front hitch on
the trailer. The weight is directly over the hitch. Access for refueling and
operation is convenient too. And it leaves other hitches available to haul more
toys!
